Privacy policy.

This page explains what personal data Little Stories collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Plain language, no surprises.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Little Stories is run by Simina Cristina Ilea, trading as Little Stories, a self-employed individual (autónomo) registered in Spain. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), she is the data controller for this website.

We are a small operation and are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer. Write to the address above and your message reaches the person who runs Little Stories.

2. What we collect, and why

When you write to us

The contact form asks for your name, email address, a topic, and your message. We use these only to read and reply to what you sent. Messages are delivered to us by email through Resend.

When you buy the book

Checkout is handled by Shopify. To fulfil an order, Shopify collects your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number if you give one. Payment card details are handled by Shopify Payments and never reach us — we can see that an order was paid, not how you paid for it. You do not need to create an account to buy.

When you ask for the free colouring pages

If you give us your email address in exchange for the printable colouring pages, we use it to send you those pages and, from time to time, news about new stories and new languages. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, and we will stop.

When you simply visit

Our hosting provider records technical information automatically, including your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is ordinary server logging and is needed to serve the site securely.

The fonts used on this site (Fraunces, Nunito and Caveat) are currently loaded from Google's servers, which means your IP address is sent to Google when a page loads. We are working to serve these fonts from our own domain so this no longer happens.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use the following, and each one is described here so you can decide about it:

Analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you agree to them. You can change your mind at any time, and cookies strictly necessary for the shop to function will still be used because without them checkout cannot work.

4. Our legal grounds for using your data

5. Who else handles your data

We do not sell your personal data, and we never will. We share it only with the companies that make this website and shop function, and only so far as they need it:

Each of these is bound to handle your data only on our instructions. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

6. Sending data outside Europe

Some of the companies above are based in the United States or may process data there. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, those transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the additional safeguards each provider has in place.

7. How long we keep things

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, write to info@little-stories.eu. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) — www.aepd.es.

9. Children

Little Stories makes books for children, but this website is written for the grown-ups who buy them. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, write to us and we will delete them.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where the change is significant, and we have your email address, we will tell you.

11. Getting in touch

Questions about anything on this page are welcome. Write to info@little-stories.eu or use the contact form.
